Befriending Your Body
At Wisdom of the Woods (WotW), my work is to support those living with chronic pain and chronic stress to reconnect with their bodies — gently, patiently, and with compassion.
Through Myofascial Release and mindful touch, I help people rediscover ease and presence in their physical being.
Clients often share that they experience less pain, greater freedom of movement, and a deeper sense of joy. But beyond these changes, something more subtle unfolds — a renewed sense of trust in the body’s own wisdom.
Learning from WotW
Just as nature teaches us how to rest, renew, and root deeply, the body carries its own quiet knowing.
In our sessions, we slow down and listen — following the body’s natural rhythms and allowing what’s ready to unwind to do so.
Healing happens in this soft space of awareness — not through force, but through relationship.
My Approach
Myofascial Release is a gentle yet profound form of bodywork that invites tissue and nervous system to release long-held tension.
Each session is a collaboration: I offer informed, intuitive touch; you bring the courage to show up and listen within.
Together, we create a space where your body can remember what balance feels like.
WHAT SETS US APART?
About Cheryl Woods!

Hello, I’m Cheryl Woods, the heart and hands behind Wisdom of the Woods.
For more than two decades, I’ve devoted my work to helping people build a more compassionate relationship with their bodies — one rooted in curiosity rather than control.
My path through the healing arts has been both professional and deeply personal.
I’m a graduate of the Myofascial College of Utah (2004) and the Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy in New York (2007). Over the years, I’ve continued advanced studies with the John Barnes Myofascial Release Group, and I’m also a Level 2 Reiki Practitioner.
My approach blends Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, and somatic bodywork to offer sessions that are both deeply restorative and clinically effective. I specialize in supporting those living with chronic pain, anxiety, and repetitive strain, guiding them toward greater ease and connection within themselves.
Nature has always been one of my greatest teachers
— a reminder that healing unfolds in cycles, not straight lines.
In each session, I draw from that same wisdom: steady, intuitive, and attuned to the rhythms of your body. My intention is to help you move beyond temporary relief and into lasting transformation — releasing patterns that no longer serve, and creating space for freedom, flow, and joy.
